Milan, Feb 2 — Italian striker Mario Balotelli said, when he was unveiled to the press, that it is “a dream” to join Italian football giants AC Milan.
Baloteeli signed for the San Siro side Friday in a deal worth around 21 million euros from Manchester City, reports Xinhua.
The 22-year-old has conceded that he is delighted to be home, whilst also commenting on his time in England and relationship with President Silvio Berlusconi.
“It is a real honour to be here,” he said. “I have always wanted to play for Milan.
“I want to be an important player for this club. Being here really is a dream – however, I’d rather let my football do the talking.
“I would have liked to have joined earlier, but I am here now.
“I also want to thank the City fans – they always supported me, no matter what. I will always remember training with my teammates there, and the matches.
“The rest though, I will not miss. The Premier League is a great league, but I am only thinking of this adventure.
“The President has apologised for calling me a rotten apple,” he added. “But I did not hear anything anyway. I have never voted in any election, and I’m not ashamed of that.
“Anyway, it’s a dream to play here. I’ve wanted this for a long time, and now I just want to play,” he said.
