Hanoi, May 9 — Vietnam has suspended the use of Quinvaxem vaccine until the World Health Organisation (WHO) gives a report, following the death of nine children after receiving the vaccine since November 2012, state media reported.

Quinvaxem is a preventative inoculation against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis or whooping cough, hepatitis B and H and influenza Type B.

According to Xinhua, Quinvaxem is manufactured by the Berna Biotech Korea Corporation and was licensed for use in Vietnam's immunisation programme sponsored by the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization.

Since June 2010, Vietnam has imported 16.2 million doses of Quinvaxem, 15.2 million doses of which have already been distributed, state-run Voice of Vietnam reported.

The WHO has sent experts to Vietnam to investigate the alleged side-effects of Quinvaxem.

Batches of Quinvaxem have also been sent to Britain for tests.

If You Want to Get into a Really Big War, Elect a Liberal

Sep 12 2014 5:57am CDT | Source: Canada Free Press

If I pointed out that involvement in every major 20th-century conflict the US was part of occurred on liberals’ watch, it might not be entirely fair. True, there was WWI under Wilson, WWII under FDR, Korea under Truman, and Vietnam under Kennedy and Johnson. But the second Great War needed to be fought, four conflicts aren’t exactly a scientific sample, and some could contend that these men were, to some extent, victims of timing and circumstanc ...

When Star Talent Grew More Powerful than Capital

Any mention of the Sixties elicits an immediate response: hippies, Vietnam protests, Woodstock, sexual freedom, and psychedelic drugs. But along with all of that something quite dramatic happened to corporate America as well, and it started showing up in the data in 1960. It was the first salvo in an economic revolution, one that was largely in keeping with the above phenomena: the rise of ta ...
