Tokyo, June 19 (IANS) Japan registered 993.9 billion yen of goods trade deficit in May, the government said Wednesday.

Tokyo, June 19 — Japan registered 993.9 billion yen of goods trade deficit in May, the government said Wednesday.

Exports increased 10.1 percent from a year earlier, while imports rose 10 percent, the finance ministry said in a preliminary report.

The figures were calculated on a customs-cleared basis, reported Xinhua.
