Grand Canyon Helicopters Unveils New Labor Day Holiday Flight Deals

Las Vegas, NV, August 19, 2013 --(PR.com)-- In anticipation of Labor Day weekend, Grand Canyon Helicopters, a leading information and discount-booking source for canyon air tours, announced the release of a set of new deals targeting flights from Las Vegas, NV, and Tusayan, AZ.

"Labor Day is one of summer's biggest holidays," noted Keith Kravitz, owner of Grand Canyon Helicopters. "In most cases, tour prices go up. However, by posting a list of tour discounts, we're choosing to go against the grain."

Kravitz noted that deals are available for aerial and landing tours. "Marked-down aerial tours are par for the course," he said. "Tougher to find are discounted landing packages."

Las Vegas travelers can opt to do aerial or landing tours to the West Rim of the canyon. Flights depart from various airports throughout the metropolitan area and go over Lake Mead and Hoover Dam before entering Grand Canyon airspace.

"The flight over is a complete bonus," noted Kravitz. "Once the helicopter goes over Hoover Dam, travelers begin to sense that an incredible adventure is in store for them."

West-Rim bound helicopters land at the top or bottom of the canyon. "The West Rim is the only place where helicopters can land at the base," said Kravitz. "It's what makes these tours so extraordinary."

Tours that land on top can also be upgraded to include an all-access pass to the Grand Canyon Skywalk. "The Glass Bridge is now recognized as the biggest, all-glass cantilevered bridge in the world," Kravitz said. "It's a terrific attraction, especially because it lets visitors go 70 feet past the edge!"

Kravitz pointed out that a Las Vegas tour favorite is a trip that lands at the bottom and the top and comes with passes to the Skywalk. "This one's called the super tour," he said. "Do it and you'll truly have explored most of what the canyon has to offer."

Tusayan helicopter will be taking off daily from Grand Canyon National Park Airport, which is situated 10 minutes from the South Rim's Grand Canyon Village. "The airport can also be conveniently reached by visitors coming from Phoenix, Sedona, Williams and Flagstaff," noted Kravitz.

There are two kinds of South Rim flights: Thirty-minute and 50-minute rides. The shorter trip goes from the South Rim to the North Rim and back. The longer tour does that, too, except it also includes everything in the Park up to its eastern border. "The 50-minute flight is the quickest way to see up to 75 percent of the canyon," Kravitz said. "No other tour delivers like that one."

Visitor traffic to the Grand Canyon is expected to spike during Labor Day Weekend. As such, travelers need to plan ahead. “My recommendation is that bookings be made a least a week prior to departures that fall on any day within the Labor Day holiday,” he said. “Indeed, South Rim visitors might be able to get away by booking 72 hours ahead of time but it’s risky.”

The deals that Grand Canyon Helicopters are posting are good for online bookings only. “The Internet is home to the best prices,” said Kravitz. “But make sure to review the terms of each deal that meets your needs and budget. Lastly, to get the special online rate, you have to complete the transaction online. It’s an aspect of the deal that many travelers overlook and in the end can be quite costly.”
