A new Wise Insurance Quotes survey shows that despite all of the negative press, a large majority of consumers expect Obamacare to cut health care insurance costs.

Las Vegas, NV, August 26, 2013 --(PR.com)-- A large majority of respondents to a new survey say that they expect Obamacare to cut health care insurance costs. The independent survey conducted by insurance news website WiseInsuranceQuotes.com found that 76% of those polled feel that Obamacare will reduce insurance costs.

The survey was completed just five weeks before Obamacare exchanges are scheduled to go online in the majority of U.S. states to start enrolling consumers in health care programs. Obamacare was passed by U.S. lawmakers two years ago, but has been challenged in the courts by more than two dozen states.

However, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the new law is legal. Online state exchanges are scheduled to begin rolling out health care programs to sell to consumers for monthly coverage at the beginning of October.

U.S. citizens who do not enroll in a program for health insurance for coverage by the beginning of 2014 are subject to paying a monthly fine of $95 for each month they are not covered. The fine will be payable as part of their U.S. federal taxes.

More than a third of the U.S. population is not covered by health care insurance, mainly because they cannot afford expensive monthly premiums.
