Crimcheck.com Receives Safe Harbor Compliance Certification

Aug 27 2013, 1:17pm CDT | by PR.com

Crimcheck.com, a leading provider of pre-employment screening services, obtains Safe Harbor Certification from the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Strongsville, OH, August 27, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Crimcheck.com, a leading provider of pre-employment screening services, has formalized their commitment to data security and documented its data privacy procedures by obtaining Safe Harbor Certification from the U.S. Department of Commerce.

“Committing to Safe Harbor certification is a priority for Crimcheck.com as we continue to be dedicated to the service and security of our clients. We are not only committed to supporting the needs of our European Union clients, but also place the highest importance on security for all the confidential personal information under our care. The Safe Harbor certification represents our commitment to providing the highest quality product, service, and customer experience for the global market,” stated Ted L. Moss, CEO of Crimcheck.com.

In 1998, the EU enacted a directive on data protection that would prohibit the transfer of personal data to non-EU nations (including the U.S.) that do not meet the EU standards for protection. Therefore, companies, like Crimcheck.com, who are certified under the Safe Harbor Framework, are allowed to receive personal data from EU countries.

The Safe Harbor certification facilitates business transactions without interruption when dealing with the EU. The aim of this certification program is to bridge the difference between the data protection practices of the EU with those of the U.S.
