Industry partners promise generous donation to Boot Campaign presented at Sales Mastery to benefit wounded soldiers

La Jolla, CA, October 18, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The mortgage industry will symbolically express its resurgence as mortgage professionals from around the country will gather October 23-26, at Sales Mastery 2013. Presented by mortgage industry expert, sales mentor, and owner of The Duncan Group, Todd Duncan at the JW Marriott in Palm Desert, Sales Mastery is celebrating is 20th anniversary this year.

Sales Mastery 2013 (www.salesmasterymobile.com) promises to be a standout year. With speakers including Darren Hardy, publisher and editorial director of SUCCESS magazine, best-selling acclaimed author Andy Andrews, Rachel Cruze, daughter of financial guru Dave Ramsey, Olympic gold medalist swimmer Jason Lezak, and Real Estate expert Tom Ferry, Sales Mastery presents leadership expertise from various perspectives and empowers leaders in the industry to achieve greater levels of success.

This year’s event also will include a first-of-its-kind Heros2Homeowners presentation sponsored by The Duncan Group and Mortgage Coach. During this presentation, corporate gifts from Fairway Mortgage, GEM, Churchill, Wallick & Volk, Prospect Mortgage, Cherry Creek Mortgage, Cornerstone Mortgage, First Cal, Service First Mortgage, and Prime Lending will be presented to The Boot Campaign. These generous gifts will result in 10 homes being remodeled and updated to accommodate the specific needs of wounded veterans. These homes will geographically represent the influence of the corporate partners and be dedicated to veterans in those areas.

Todd Duncan shared, “I have always been a big believer in the area of generosity and giving back. We are excited to be able to partner with the Boot Campaign this year and empower and encourage wounded veterans to emerge from their challenges while blessing them with a mortgage free house. We owe them our sincere gratitude, and this is one way to express that.”

Meghan McDermott of the Boot Campaign agreed, “Our gratitude goes out to the companies who chose to direct their generosity to a cause that is so near to our hearts. We believe that it takes more than one organization to meet the various needs of wounded veterans, and these gifts will be used to have a large impact in the lives of those who will receive the benefit of a new home. Thank you to all of the partners and those who drove this effort.”

The Heros2Homeowners presentation will take place the evening of Wednesday, October 23rd. Accepting on behalf of the Boot Campaign will be Sean Parnell, a highly decorated combat infantryman and Ranger. Sean’s leadership welded his platoon into one of the most fierce and effective American units in modern military history. Since leaving the Army, Sean penned the New York Times Best selling book "Outlaw Platoon," which is the story of his platoon’s crucible of combat in Afghanistan.

Charlotte Hornets start encore with OT win

Oct 29 2014 9:37pm CDT | Source: Charlotte Business Journal

Much has been made of Michael Jordan spending $5 million to bring back the Charlotte Hornets name. He may be happier about a $48 million commitment he made Tuesday as part of a four-year contract extension with Kemba Walker. Walker, a fourth-year pro, drilled two clutch shots to lead the largest comeback in team history as Charlotte beat the Milwaukee Bucks 108-106 in overtime. "We rallied," Walke ...

Wonkblog: Why the Fed is giving up too soon on the economy

Oct 29 2014 5:52pm CDT | Source: The Washington Post

Two years and $1.7 trillion later, the Fed's latest round of bond-buying, or QE3, is officially over. What did it get us? Well, the best answer is what it didn't get us: a recession in 2013. Now the words "fiscal cliff," "sequester," and "debt ceiling" might be hazy memories from a time when Congress was doing its most to sabotage the recovery, so here's a refresher. Between higher income taxes on the rich, higher payroll taxes on the rest, and sign ...
