Grimes Warehousing Services Reaches 1,000 Days Safety Mark

Oct 29 2013, 8:00am CDT | by PR.com

Jacksonville, FL, October 29, 2013 --(PR.com )-- On October 23, Grimes Warehousing Services reached a notable milestone for safety – 1,000 days without a lost time accident. This exceptional achievement underscores The Grimes Companies’ commitment to operational safety as well as customer service.

“Our high safety goals are not so that we can tout a great record, but so that we consistently meet the commitment to our employees, as well as our customers, of a safe environment for all,” explained Michael O’Leary, President of TGC. “Being accident-free means a safe and happy staff, which is our primary goal for safety. The added benefit is that our clients’ products are also safe.”

The achievement was celebrated with a company cookout and prizes for employees. “The real reward for all of us is that for 1,000 days all of us have gone home safely at the end of the day,” remarked Ike Sherlock, Vice President at TGC. “Our team looks out for each other and we take care of each other… it’s the Grimes’ way.”

Grimes Warehousing is now looking forward to the next safety milestone of 3 years, something few competitors have ever reached. “One day at a time and one load at a time; we must continue to remain diligent and avoid complacency as these have been our keys to success,” commented Neil Porter, Director of Operations for Grimes Warehousing.

TGC, a Jacksonville, Florida based company, currently operates both public and contract warehouses, light manufacturing and packaging operations, and distribution staffing out of Jacksonville, FL, along with trucking terminals in both Florida and Georgia. As a single-source solution for logistics and supply chain needs, TGC provides warehousing, transportation, packaging, and staffing to its clients.

Business Groups Discuss Immigration Reform
By Milkweed:In Professor Gillis recent article he mentioned that (NYSE:NQ) would have to file a 6K announcing that they fired PwC and that PwC would have to respond to NQ's disclosure about the termination. When I've seen changes in auditors in the past, a letter from the auditor leaving is attached to the 8K or 6K filing that announced the change. The change in auditor took place on 7/18/14 and since we have yet to see PwC respond o ...

Beyond Gallup

Jul 28 2014 1:32am CDT | Source: SeekingAlpha

By Joseph Y. Calhoun III: By Jeffrey P. Snider Since I believe the Gallup poll estimates to be significant, I want to revisit them with the addition of one more factor which I think further illustrates the distinct lack of progress toward escape velocity. By Gallup's own definitions, they ask respondents (with representative sampling techniques, including a 50% landline/50% cell mix) wh ...
