Calvin’s Barbershop South Adds Jobs in a Slowly Returning Economy and Brings Novel Small Business to One of South Sacramento’s Most Business Friendly Corridors

Sacramento, CA, October 31, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Less than 6 months ago, 28-year-old owner Calvin Dozier -- of Calvin’s Barbershop -- opened up his second location, Calvin’s Barbershop South. Located at 6808 Fruitridge Rd. in the Fruitridge Business Center, Calvin’s Barbershop South is centrally situated near the newly renovated area of Stockton Blvd. and Mack Rd. A growing business was always in the plan for this budding entrepreneur, but Calvin didn’t think expansion would happen this quickly.

In April 2013, Calvin was presented with an opportunity he couldn’t turn down. Another young entrepreneur urgently put the word out he was looking to liquidate his business. Upon touring the space, Calvin quickly contacted the former owner, and within 5 days was the proprietor of his next business. The recently updated barbershop features a vibrant interior with new flooring, a fresh coat of Calvin’s signature money green paint and his own freehand artwork. Sandwiched between a brand new Boost Mobile and a Chinese food restaurant, Calvin’s South sees a highly diverse clientele. The shop has seen tremendous growth in the last 6 months, and is expecting to double its projected sales through the end of the year.

“I love Sacramento. This is my second barbershop. I am proof that if you work hard and stay focused you can achieve anything you want,” says Dozier. With the help of family, Calvin purchased his first barbershop when he was just 20 years old. Located on Watt Ave. -- in the heart of North Highlands and directly across the street from McClellan Air Force Base – ‘Calvin’s’ was an already established and successful business. “I purchased the shop where I learned and mastered the art of barbering. I made an investment in myself and my community. I am starting from scratch with Calvin’s South, and with this new venture I am choosing to make my next investment here in South Sacramento.”

Calvin’s South will offer full service barbering. It also stands to offer a full service salon. With 6 stations and room for growth, Calvin’s South currently has 3 full-time barbers and 1 full-time hair stylist. Calvin noted, “I am looking for highly qualified barbers and stylists to be a part [of this]. I want to grow and you can only do that with exceptional employees.” If you would like an interview or schedule an appointment, please contact Calvin Dozier at 916-333-9015.
