Dexter Industries Launches Kickstarter Campaign for Arduberry

Dexter Industries launches Kickstarter campaign to unite the Arduino to the Raspberry Pi.

Stafford, VA, January 22, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Dexter Industries announces the start of their latest Kickstarter Campaign to bring the Raspberry Pi and Arduino systems together, the Arduberry. The Arduberry helps Raspberry Pi users make devices with Arduino shields, allowing easy prototyping of computer and electronic devices. The Kickstarter Campaign passed its funding goal within the first few hours of launching.

The Arduberry project brings the two most popular electronics systems together: the Arduino and the Raspberry Pi. The Arduino is a microcontroller system used by hobbyists and educators to prototype interactive electronic objects. The Arduino ecosystem features hundreds of “shields,” add-on modules that allow users to incorporate sensors and control devices into their projects such as motors, GPS, video, and sensors to monitor the environment. The Raspberry Pi is a $35 credit card sized computer for educators and hobbyists that has exploded in popularity since its release in 2012.

The Arduberry system allows Raspberry Pi users to use the hundreds of Arduino “shields” available with the Raspberry Pi. The system is fully open source, with hardware and software plans available on Dexter Industries’ website.

The Arduberry Kickstarter Campaign has had a phenomenal start. Within four days, the campaign has raised over five times the initial goal. The campaign was fully funded within hours of launching.

The campaign is Dexter Industries second Kickstarter Campaign. In June of 2013, Dexter Industries raised over $125,000 on Kickstarter for their BrickPi Project. Dexter Industries completed fulfilment of the BrickPi Kickstarter project in October 2013 and is currently selling the BrickPi through their website and international distributors.

Dexter Industries designs educational devices for the LEGO Mindstorms, Raspberry Pi and Arduino systems. The company produces a wide range of electronic educational devices. Their products include solar power systems for LEGO robots, a GPS guidance system, and pressure temperature sensors for the LEGO Mindstorms system.
