Jeff Slivka of New Day Underwriting Managers to Discuss New Contractor Professional Liability Trends at Annual AGC Conference

Bordentown, NJ, January 22, 2014 --(PR.com )-- Jeff Slivka, chief operating officer and executive vice president at New Day Underwriting Managers LLC, a leading environmental and construction-related professional liability resource firm, is scheduled to join industry experts in a panel discussion on new trends in contractor professional liability insurance at the 2014 Conference on Surety Bonding and Construction Risk Management to be held February 3 – 5 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, Florida.

During the session to be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, Slivka along with Bill Linney of Construction Risk Partners and Ed Littleton of Balfour Beatty Construction will discuss “Wrestling the Alligator: How to Manage Project-Specific Risks of Professional Liability for Complex Design-Build Projects -- in a Joint-Venture World that Includes IPD and Other Contractual Complexities.” Among the discussion points will be a review of the policies currently available to construction contractors as well as their roles in mitigating the risks posed by the complex contractual arrangements that many contractors are involved with today.

“This is an ideal forum for addressing risk management trends and the ways contractors and their advisers can maximize professional liability coverage for projects that extend well beyond simple design and build applications,” says Slivka. “It will highlight the inherent challenges and unforeseen consequences that can accompany the joint ventures, public-private partnerships and integrated project delivery (IPD) models that are increasingly becoming an integral part of today’s commercial construction landscape.”

Over the past two decades, Slivka has concentrated on helping construction businesses address the emerging liability issues related to new trends in building information modeling (BIM), green/sustainable construction, and integrated project delivery (IPD). He is an expert in contractor’s professional liability, contractor’s/owner’s protective insurance, environmental insurance, and professional liability and environmental risk management.

The 2014 AGC Conference on Surety Bonding and Construction Risk Management is hosted by the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). For more information please visit www.agc.org/cs/2014_Conference_on_Surety_Bonding_and_Construction_Risk_Management.
