Donald V. Seward of Napa, California, has attained recognition in America’s Registry of Outstanding Professionals as Professional of the Year 2013 for his outstanding contributions and achievement in the field of Consulting Management.

Farmingdale, NY, April 01, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Dr. Seward was born in Buffalo, New York. He earned his B.A. at Iowa State University, his M.S. at Stanford University and his Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Steward was working on the design of nuclear power plants when he conceived the DSM concept. An article written by him in 1969 was rejected by three journals but was finally published in 1981 in IEEE Transaction on Engineering Management. Another of his publications, a book titled “Systems Analysis and Management: Structure, Strategy and Design” was published in 1981. One other published work is a book titled “Software Engineering with Systems Analysis and Design.” Dr. Stewart’s work introduced the DSM concept into several aerospace companies such as Lockheed and Boeing. In 1992, Dr. Steward was invited to MIT for a semester as a visiting scholar to work on extensions of DSM with Professor Eppinger and his students. Several students completed theses based on DSM. Workshops on DSM were held at MIT in 1999 and in 2000. Attendees included people from GTE, Ford, Fiat, Visteon, Scandia, Lockheed-Martin, Boeing and Pratt & Whitney among others. They are now applying DSM concepts mostly in engineering. DSM is referred to as the Information Dependency Method to indicate its broader application to business as well as to engineering.

Oct 23 2014 8:32pm CDT | Source: Business First of Louisville

The 2014 Kentucky State Fair's revenue came in below budget as "uncontrollable" factors took a toll on attendance and spending, according to Kentucky State Fair Board officials. For one, there were eight days of rain, which likely kept away potential attendees. Also, the Jefferson County Public Schools system began its fall session the da ...

Don't Get Used To Mobile Apps — Their Days Are Very Obviously Numbered

Oct 23 2014 5:14pm CDT | Source: Business Insider

A few years ago, everyone was creating desktop-first startups. Now you're behind if you're not building a mobile application first, and a website second. Apple blogger and Google Ventures partner MG Siegler believes the first app you open in the morning is the equivalent to the new homepage on a web browser. But apps are very clearly not going to be around forever. Certainly not in their current, bulky square form. There isn't enough mobile homepage real estate for the web ...
