Victoria Ruvolo was the victim of a senseless teenage prank in 2004, when a frozen turkey was thrown through the windshield of her car. She made worldwide headlines when she asked the Court to grant leniency to her teenage attacker, and forgave him publicly in the Court Room.

Long Island, NY, April 28, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Coming up on the ten year anniversary of the event that altered her life, Victoria Ruvolo remains a dedicated Participant in the T.A.S.T.E. Program of Suffolk County. This program is open to anyone who is sentenced to probation, and on Wednesday evening in Bohemia, Ms Ruvolo addressed a group of Participants.

On this night, Victoria was a surprise Guest. The Participants did not know she was coming, and she was greeted with a very warm welcome.

Victoria began with a powerful opening statement: “Everything I’m about to tell you, about the night of the event, and what happened to me for the weeks that followed, are the way it was told to me. I have no recollection of any of it. I was in a medically induced coma.”

Ms. Ruvolo painstakingly recounted her story from that eventful night of November 13th, 2004. Disturbing visuals of Victoria lying comatose in her hospital bed were shown on the overhead screen.
.
She spoke to the Group about the moment she woke up from her coma, and how she tried to figure out where she was and what had happened to her.

She described her rehabilitation. How she had to learn to walk and talk all over again. How her face which was reconstructed using titanium plates and a mesh screen to reattach her eye, now predicts the weather for her and is a source of constant pain.

A very dramatic high was reached, when Ms. Ruvolo talked about how the attack affected her emotionally. “How,” she asked, “could these kids leave without calling 911? What kind of rage was this young man holding onto, that caused him to behave so recklessly?”

By the time Victoria described the emotional process that led her to forgiveness, and why she asked the Court to grant leniency to her then teenage attacker, her audience was hanging on every word, and some even moved to tears.

“Forgiveness, she tells them, is for you.”

Victoria Ruvolo makes a strong emotional impact on her audience. Her ability to connect and speak sincerely from her heart is something that Victoria says she’s compelled to do. “God gave me a second chance, and I’m here to make the most of it.”

Victoria Ruvolo is available to address Groups, Youth Ministries, Schools and Organizations.
