About D. Grayson Yeargin

Grayson Yeargin concentrates his practice on guiding clients through government investigations and assisting them with compliance with government requirements. He represents government contractors, companies in the private sphere, and individuals involved in disputes with the government.

A significant portion of Mr. Yeargin’s practice involves representing and advising clients concerning U.S. export controls. Mr. Yeargin has extensive experience in assisting companies with compliance with the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), anti-boycott laws, and the sanctions and embargoes administered by the Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC). He regularly represents companies in connection with disclosures and disputes involving OFAC, the Department of State’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), and the Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS). Mr. Yeargin’s experience provides him with advanced knowledge to assist companies in navigating U.S. trade embargoes and exporting high-technology products, information, and services throughout the world.

About Alexandra Lopez-Casero

Alexandra Lopez-Casero concentrates her practice on export controls, economic sanctions, national security reviews before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), and the U.S. antiboycott laws and regulations. Ms. Lopez-Casero was born in Germany and began her legal career at Clifford Chance’s office in Frankfurt. After completing a Master of Laws at the University of Pennsylvania, she joined Nixon Peabody in 2004.

Ms. Lopez-Casero counsels U.S. and foreign clients from startups to Fortune 500 companies on a wide range of export control and economic sanctions matters helping them successfully navigate the ever-changing U.S. trade control laws. She assists clients mitigate cross-border compliance risk and optimize their trade compliance procedures through effective, global export compliance strategies involving all phases of export compliance, from the first point of regulatory risk through the entire supply chain process, including post-shipment activities. Ms. Lopez-Casero’s in-depth knowledge of the U.S. trade control laws, coupled with her training as an M&A lawyer in the beginning of her career, allows her to provide hands-on regulatory advice and strategies to deal teams in corporate transactions and due diligence reviews involving trade controls. She focuses on helping clients develop enterprise-wide compliance plans, including technology control plans, and work instruction that are effective, efficient and compliant. Clients also turn to her to conduct in-depth process assessments and gap analysis and to direct and supervise external compliance audits. In addition, Ms. Lopez-Casero regularly represents clients in voluntary disclosure proceedings before the U.S. Department of State’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and the U.S. Census Bureau.
