Serious about taking forward civil nuclear deal: Modi

Washington, Sep 30 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Tuesday that he has conveyed to US President Barack Obama that India is “serious about taking forward” the civil nuclear deal with the US and resolving issues.

“We are serious about resolution of issues on both sides to enable the civil nuclear energy cooperation to take off,” he said at a joint press interaction with Obama after summit-level talks here.

External affairs ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin tweeted that “India-US Group to address all implementation issues to speed up deployment of US origin nuclear reactors in India”.

Modi also assured the US that his government was changing policies and making the processes and governance easier to do business in India.
