An Air Algerie jet has been lost in the desert regions of northern Africa, during a northward flight between Burkina Faso and Algiers. The aircraft, an MD-83, carried 116 passengers, according to a Bloomberg story. The twin-engine jet was built by McDonnell Douglas, and this plane was built in 1996, the same year Boeing merged with McDonnell Douglas. FORT WORTH, Texas – American Airlines says it will pay its first dividend since 1980. The company announced Thursday that shareholders will get a quarterly cash dividend of 10 cents per share. American will also spend up to $1 billion to buy back shares, which raises the value of remaining shares.
